On Tuesday morning a student was hit by a car in a crosswalk in Fayetteville. The student was at the Glensford Drive crossing at the south of the Montclair Elementary School when he was hit shortly before 8 a.m. The student was hit in the middle of the lane, and although the driver slowed down briefly he fled the scene. The student suffered minor injuries and police have been unable to locate the vehicle and driver who hit him. The vehicle is described as an older-model, dark-colored four-door sedan with a missing hub cap on the front driver's side. The driver's side mirror may have been damaged in the collision.
